Classes for kids
Taught by veteran dance educator, Laurie Decker, our brand new classes for homeschoolers will instill a love of movement in an encouraging environment where they will be free to explore and play.
Spring 2025 Classes run from January 8 - April 30, 2025
Classes:
SKIPS
(ages 5-8)
Wednesdays 10:00am-11:00am
In our Skips class we focus on age appropriate movement and technique. We teach the student as a whole, enriching their learning through springboards and creative ideas. Students explore concepts of shape, space, rhythm, music, qualities of movement along with forms of literature. We work on more complex combinations of skipping, galloping, leaping, sliding, jumping, hopping, and of course creating!
LEAPS
(ages 9-12)
Wednesdays 11:00am-12:00pm
In our Leaps class we begin to build on technique through ballet and modern dance. We continue to foster creativity with art, literature, and nature; adding in collaboration with their peers to build upon their ideas and observations. Other areas of focus will be alignment, spacial awareness, turn out, extension, self- expression, flexibility and audience engagement.

If your child is a recipient of the UFA Scholarship, BEFORE YOU REGISTER please email sarah@stgeorgedance.com to receive the code to register for class. You will then be emailed an invoice to submit to UFA Direct Pay via Class Wallet.

Developed and taught by Jennie Jones, Dance FUNdamentals is a unique play-based approach to teaching the foundational skills of all dance. The classes will help boys and girls ages 4-8 discover the joy of music and dance while exploring the concepts of dance in child-friendly, playful ways. As they play to learn, they will develop the skills used in formal dance training, and will be prepared to continue dancing in any genre they choose.
